5 San Francisco 49ers to watch out for in Week 7

The Washington Redskins may have squeaked by the winless Miami Dolphins, but now they get to face the opposite of the Dolphins. An undefeated 49ers team.

The Washington Redskins earned their first win of the 2019 season this past Sunday, in a surprisingly thrilling 17-16 road victory over the Miami Dolphins. To make things better, it was under interim head coach Bill Callahan in his first game at the helm after taking over for Jay Gruden. Overall the Redskins played well in Week 6, but it doesn't get any easier. In fact, things get much, much harder in the span of one week.

The Redskins have the opportunity to shock the world on Sunday. They will take on the undefeated San Francisco 49ers team in Week 7 after vanquishing the winless Dolphins. If a fan has any notion to think there won't be any motivation for the 49ers, they'd be very wrong, because there will be.

Former Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan was fired by owner Dan Snyder back in 2013. Current 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan will want to win this one for the obvious reasons. Kyle Shanahan was the offensive coordinator for the Redskins when his father got canned, and subsequently lost his job as well.

He went on to become the OC for the Atlanta Falcons and he led their offense to top heights, including a Super Bowl appearance that he parlayed into his current gig.

Looking at how hot the 49ers offense is, makes one wonder what could have been for the Redskins if they found a way to not let Shanahan out of the building. Too little, too late for that, their focus is now on how to stop it and continue their positive defensive momentum after racking up five sacks and two interceptions this past Sunday.

Washington will need to focus on the 49ers stars on each side of the ball, so here are 5 players they'll need to watch out for in Week 7.
