It's been nearly two months since the Washington Commanders traded Chase Young to the San Francisco 49ers. And on Sunday, Young will face the team that drafted him No. 2 overall or the first time in his career.

The Niners had been undefeated with Young in the lineup until a Christmas Day loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.

Even though the 49ers are an overwhelming favorite this week, Young isn't underestimating his former team.

“They’re definitely a team who’s going to fight to the end. I do know that,” Young said via 49ers reporter David Bonilla. “So we just got to come out good.”

The comments were much more celebratory than what he said after the news broke that he was traded when he explained the differences between the two franchises.

“Just the players. The spirit in the locker room. The spirit of the coaches,” Young said. “You know, it’s just different. It’s kind of that same thing at Ohio State where it’s like you’re expected to win and it’s just like that vibe of, ‘We’re going to win.’ So, it definitely reminds me of Ohio State, but obviously it’s going to feel — these are grown men. I’m just excited to — be blessed with the opportunity to be with this franchise.”

Young and the Niners are set to face the Commanders at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at FedEx Field.
