Super Bowl LVIII Odds: Where Do Commanders Rank?

The Washington Commanders finished 8-8-1 this season. Where does that rank them for next year's Super Bowl odds?
In this story:

With Super Bowl LVII ending and MVP Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, the NFL offseason is officially upon us.

However, that doesn't mean we can't look at the way-too-early odds for who is going to succeed the Chiefs as the next Super Bowl champion.

The Washington Commanders finished 8-8-1 this past season, around the middle of the pack for the NFL. However, according to SI Sportsbook, the team is tied for the 24th-best odds to be next year's Super Bowl champion at +6600.

The Commanders hold the same odds as the Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers. The only teams with worse odds than the Commanders are the Chicago Bears (+8000), Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans (+10000).

The Commanders are likely moving into next season with unproven fifth-round rookie Sam Howell under center, which isn't a common formula for a Super Bowl contender. That being said, a lot can change between now and the start of the season.

As for the teams at the top, the Chiefs have the best odds to repeat as champions at +600. The Bills and Eagles are just a smidge behind at +750, while the Eagles sit at +800.
