The Washington Commanders are back in action 10 days removed from a disheartening loss on Thursday Night Football against the Chicago Bears. They will look to bounce back on the road against the Atlanta Falcons, who have yet to lose inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium this season.

1ST QUARTER:

The Washington Commanders get the ball at their 25-yard line to start the game after the touchback.

Sam Howell's pass to Terry McLaurin's doesn't gain a yard. Brian Robinson only runs for a yard. On third and nine, Howell's pass to Curtis Samuel gains 16 yards for a first down. 

Howell's pass to Logan Thomas gains two yards. Howell finds McLaurin for 10 yards and a first down in Atlanta territory.

Howell's deep pass intended for Dyami Brown is incomplete. Robinson runs for a yard. On third and nine, Howell's pass to McLaurin is complete for 21 yards and another first down. Offsides on Grady Jarrett is declined.

On first and 10 from the Falcons' 24-yard line, Howell is sacked by Jarrett for a seven-yard loss. Antonio Gibson runs for a yard. On third and 16, Howell's pass to Samuel is complete for nine yards to Atlanta's 20-yard line.

Bijan runs for two yards. Atlanta runs a trick play on a toss to Bijan who throws it back to Desmond Ridder, but his pass to KhaDarel Hodge is incomplete. On third and eight, RIdder finds Kyle Pitts for 10 yards to move the chains. 

Tyler Allgeier is stopped by Daron Payne for a one-yard loss. Ridder's pass to Drake London is complete for 20 yards to the Commanders' 44-yard line.

Ridder's pass to Mack Hollins is complete for 12 yards and another first down.

A screen to Robinson goes for 14 yards but holding on Nick Gates negates the big gain. On first and 20, Gibson runs for six yards. Howell's pass intended for McLaurin is incomplete. Howell looks for McLaurin again on third and 14 but the pass is also incomplete.

Mike Hughes returns the punt only a yard to the Falcons' 23-yard line.

Ridder's pass intended for Allgeier is incomplete after it's tipped by John Ridgeway. Bijan runs for three yards on second and 10. On third and seven, Ridder's pass to Bijan gains 22 yards to the Commanders' 26-yard line on the final play before the two-minute warning.

Ridder is under pressure and forced to throw it away. After the referees converse, he's flagged for intentional grounding because the pass didn't get back to the line of scrimmage. On second and 26, Ridder's pass to London only gains two yards. Atlanta had an ineligible man downfield but Washington declines the penalty. On third and 24, Ridder's pass to London gains 11 yards and Washington calls its last timeout with 1:36 remaining before halftime.

Hughes fields a short punt at Atlanta's 43-yard line and runs it back to Washington's 48-yard line with 46 seconds left in the second quarter.

Bijan runs for three yards. Patterson gets the handoff but he's stopped for no gain. On third and seven, Ridder is intercepted by Kendall Fuller at midfield and he runs it back to the Falcons' 27-yard line before going out of bounds.

On first and goal from the Commanders' eight-yard line, Bijan runs for three yards. A neutral zone infraction on Young moves Atlanta half the distance to the goal. Ridder finds Smith in the end zone for a two-yard touchdown. 

Atlanta goes for a two-point conversion and Ridder's pass is incomplete but defensive pass interference on Benjamin St-Juste gives the Falcons another try. On their second two-point conversion try, Allgeier is stopped short of the end zone and it's no good with 12:43 left in the game.
