Commanders' Joey Slye Knocks Late FG in Record-Snapping Win vs. Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens' preseason win streak comes to an end at 24 games after losing to the Washington Commanders.

The Washington Commanders (2-0) are sending their fans home happy after beating the Baltimore Ravens (2-0) in a 29-28 win.

With 14 seconds to go, Joey Slye knocked down a 49-yard field goal to take a 29-28 lead.

With the Washington win, the Ravens' 24-game preseason win streak has come to an end.

Led by Sam Howell, the Commanders took a 17-14 lead into halftime. The newly-named starting quarterback proved why Washington believes in him, completing 19 of 25 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Howell threw both of his touchdowns inside the two-minute warning, one to Antonio Gibson and the other to Dyami Brown.

Brown (concussion), along with fellow receiver Terry McLaurin (toe), suffered injuries during the game. Brown was cleared to return, but McLaurin's status is unknown.

Washington's offense proved in tonight's dress rehearsal that it is ready to conquer the regular season ... and that's got to make head coach Ron Rivera and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy happy.

The starting defense didn't play, but given how strong that unit has been in the past few seasons, that side of the field should be ready for the season opener against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Commanders play their final preseason game Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Kickoff is set for 6:05 p.m. at FedEx Field.
