An 18-point comeback wouldn't have been possible for the Washington Commanders without Brian Robinson.

The second-year running back had 18 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns in Washington's 35-33 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High. He also made an impact in the passing game with two catches for a career-high 42 yards. Robinson's 129 total yards were also a career-best through 14 games.

Even coming off of the best performance of his career, the second-year running back believes he's only scratching the surface.

“I know I got a lot more in the tank that I can show," Robinson said. "Like I said, taking those strides week in and week out. Eventually, it will be all out on display," Robinson said. “Always feels good to make plays and help the team win. I’ll do whatever I got to do. However many runs or carries or catches, it don’t matter. I just want to get the win.”

Commanders head coach Ron Rivera also felt Robinson's performance was proof of what he's capable of when he's firing on all cylinders.

"Once he got it going, that’s what the young man is capable of," Rivera said. "This is indicative of what he can be, this was balance as far as our offense is concerned, this is the stuff he talks about all the time.”

A good running back can be a young quarterback's best friend. With Sam Howell still finding his way, Robinson can be the steadying presence for the offense and the young quarterback.

Robinson's performance added balance to the Commanders' offense and it helped Howell turn in the best performance of his young career, completing 27 of 39 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns.

“He is a heck of a player," Howell said. "He has worked so hard. It was so much fun watching him run today. He did a good job. The offensive line did a good job. There were some holes for him to run through and he hit them. That is the type of player he is. He did some good things out of the backfield as well. That is who ‘B-Rob’ is. He is such a good player."

If Robinson can continue to be a dynamic playmaker in the running and passing game, it'll add another dimension to a Commanders offense that's already showing signs of improvement two games into the season.
