Washington Commanders Cooked by Dallas Cowboys in Thanksgiving Blowout

The Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Commanders by five touchdowns on Thanksgiving Day.

The Washington Commanders are thankful that their game with the Dallas Cowboys is now over following a 45-10 thrashing on Thanksgiving.

While the game started slow, the Cowboys and Commanders picked up some momentum in the second quarter, scoring on the final five full drives of the half.

But after Dolly Parton came and performed at halftime, the Commanders fell asleep at the wheel while the Cowboys put their foot on the gas.

While the third quarter was scoreless, the Cowboys scored 25 points in the fourth quarter to officially turn the game into a blowout. Dallas scored all of its points in less than 10 minutes, cementing its spot as one of the best teams in the NFC.

The Commanders' loss cements their status as one of the worst teams in the NFC, as they now tack on a third straight loss.

Despite the loss, quarterback Sam Howell threw for over 300 yards, but the offense was only able to manage 10 points as the Cowboys were able to stuff them around midfield on nearly every drive.

Washington now has five games left to go and will likely limp into the offseason with more questions than answers.

The Commanders will now digest their Thanksgiving meal, but then will have five games left in a season that will almost certainly end in their third consecutive year outside the playoff picture.

The Commanders are back in action on Sunday, Dec. 3 when they host the Miami Dolphins. Kickoff is scheduled at 1 p.m. ET.
