Commanders' Emmanuel Forbes Records First Career Interception vs. Broncos: 'It Means a Lot!'

“It means a lot," Washington Commanders cornerback Emmanuel Forbes said postgame. "Hopefully, I get a lot more. Just keep it going and keep winning.”

Emmanuel Forbes is celebrating after recording his first career interception in the Washington Commanders' 35-33 win against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

In just his second NFL game, Forbes is doing what he was able to do in college ... intercept opposing quarterbacks.

Here's a look at his first career pick against Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson ...

While it looked questionable as to whether Forbes held onto the ball, the officials reviewed the play and the ruling was upheld, resulting in the Mississippi State alum's first interception.

Forbes had 14 interceptions during three seasons with the Bulldogs, including six pick-sixes, an FBS record.

“It means a lot," Forbes said postgame. "Hopefully, I get a lot more. Just keep it going and keep winning.”

Many people questioned the Forbes pick so early in the draft, considering he became the only cornerback drafted since 2000 who weighed in under 170 pounds at the scouting event. However, Forbes has the opportunity to make an immediate impact for this Commanders defense.

Forbes' interception could prove to be very key for the Commanders. After trailing 21-3, the Commanders rallied to score 18 unanswered points to tie the game.

“We just told each other to keep going, it’s a four-quarter game," Forbes said. "We never are out of the game. We just kept going and came out with the victory.”

The Commanders have now come back from trailing in the fourth quarter in two straight games. While they may not have done a great job in the beginning of games, second-half plays like Forbes' interception is a big reason why Washington is 2-0.

The Commanders hope to keep their record perfect when they visit the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
