How Many Picks Do Commanders Have in 2023 NFL Draft?
After an impressive Week 18 showing, it appears that the Washington Commanders will move forward with Sam Howell as their starting quarterback in 2023.
If he clicks, great, Washington will have finally found their franchise quarterback. But if Howell struggles, it could set the Commanders up to be in position to select either Caleb Williams or Drake Maye in the 2024 NFL Draft.
In the meantime, here's a full look at all the selections that the Commanders have in the 2023 NFL Draft, as they try to build around Howell:
Round 1, Pick 16: By virtue of going 8-8-1 this past season, the Commanders earned the 16th pick in the first round.
Round 2, Pick 47: The Commanders will have the 16th overall pick in the second round.
Round 3, Pick 97: The Commanders will have the 34th pick in the third round, a compensatory selection for offensive guard Brandon Scherff, who left to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars last March.
Round 4, Pick 118: The Commanders will have the 16th overall pick in the fourth round.
Round 5, Pick 150: The Commanders will have the 15th overall pick in the fifth round.
Round 6, Pick 193: The Commanders will have the 16th overall pick in the sixth round.
Round 6, Pick 215: This is another compensatory pick, as the Commanders will have the 38th pick in the sixth round as their kickback for losing defensive tackle Tim Settle in free agency to the Buffalo Bills last offseason.
Round 7, Pick 233: The Commanders will have the 16th overall pick in the seventh round.
