Why Commanders Coach Ron Rivera 'Loves' Josh Harris' Philosophy

The Washington Commanders hope to build a different culture with Josh Harris at the top.
In this story:

It's a new era in the nation's capital with Josh Harris officially carrying the torch from Dan Snyder as owner of the Washington Commanders.

Snyder's tenure as Washington's franchise owner grabbed all the wrong headlines ... poor play on the field, lack of success, money issues and toxic workplace allegations, all of which led to a $60 million fine on his way out.

Harris looks to turn a 180 as he takes over for the Commanders, building a strong culture.

"I really appreciate talking about the culture building," coach Ron Rivera said. "It's something that I was brought here to do. It aligns very well with the message that we've been trying to get across to our players. I love the fact that he talked about inclusive and equity and being an equal opportunity. I think that's important too, that people understand that from where we are to where we're going, we still have a lot of work to do."

Building a strong culture starts at the top, and Rivera has taken his job seriously in that regard. But in order to win a Super Bowl, that culture has to be reflected off the field as well. Harris understands that, and in order to build a winner, all of the above must happen.
