The Washington Commanders have added more than 20 external free agents to their roster this offseason and that number is continuing to grow as we enter NFL Draft month.

It was previously revealed the Commanders had agreed to terms with receiver Olamide Zaccheus, and on Monday that signing was made official by the team.

But he isn't the only newest player to head to Washington as the team also announced it had signed running back Jeremy McNichols to an unspecified deal.

"McNichols, (5-9, 205) is a seven-year NFL veteran who entered the league with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a fifth-round pick (162nd overall) in 2017," the team stated in a press release. "He has appeared in 37 games and has recorded 90 carries for 364 yards with a touchdown along with 40 receptions for 295 yards and a touchdown reception in his career. He had stints with San Francisco (2017), Indianapolis (2018), Jacksonville (2019), Tennessee (2020-21), and a second stint with San Francisco in 2023 before joining Washington."

The obvious tie between McNichols and the Commanders is from his time with the 49ers where general manager Adam Peters was a part of their executive team.

According to the team McNichols played in three games last season while San Francisco battled its way to a Super Bowl appearance.

Zaccheaus comes to Washington after playing in all 17 games for the Philadelphia Eagles and new assistant head coach and offensive pass game coordinator Brian Johnson.

In that time he recorded 10 catches gaining 164 yards playing for Johnson and alongside Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

These two signing brings the total number of new contracts agreed to this offseason to 24 with just four of those being re-signings.
