If the Washington Commanders choose to go with a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, they'll have another weapon for them to throw to.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that the Commanders have agreed to a deal with receiver Olamide Zaccheaus on Thursday. Zaccheaus spent last season with the Philadelphia Eagles and before then, he played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2019 to 2022.

Zaccheaus was buried on the Eagles' depth chart behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith last season, as he only had 10 catches for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Before then, he had a career year for the Falcons with 40 catches for 533 yards and three touchdowns. In his four-year tenure with Atlanta, Zaccheaus caught 94 passes for 1,328 yards and eight touchdowns.

The signing of Zaccheaus fills the void left at receiver by Curtis Samuel after he signed a three-year deal with the Buffalo Bills earlier in free agency. Whether or not he'll have a prominent role in the Commanders offense remains to be seen with what they do the rest of the offseason.

Washington is widely expected to take a quarterback at No. 2 overall and it's still positioned to land a solid receiver in the draft with its No. 36 or No. 40 overall pick in the second round. If Zaccheaus can find his form from 2022, he could become a focal point in offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury's offense and become a reliable target for whichever rookie quarterback the Commanders likely take.
