The Washington Commanders are in the process of signing their recent draft picks and have agreed to terms with one of their rookies.

According to KPRC's Aaron Wilson, the Commanders have agreed to terms with Louisiana linebacker Andre Jones, the No. 233 in the draft.

Wilson reports that Jones signed a four-year deal worth $3.94 million and a signing bonus of $100,272.

SI Draft Bible graded Jones as a sixth-round pick, meaning it could be considered a steal for the Commanders to grab him in the seventh round.

"On film, Jones aligns as a SAM backer, with his hands in the dirt as a true defensive end and he’ll kick inside at times," SI Draft Bible writes. "Jones is a physically gifted player, with a rocked up frame. He has good speed and movement skills in space. Louisiana asked Jones to drop back into coverage and he didn’t look out of place there but that most likely won’t be his role at the next level."

Jones, 24, played six seasons with the Ragin' Cajuns and improved every season. During the 2022 campaign, Jones recorded 7.5 sacks and 51 tackles in total. Jones may be one of the older rookies in the class, but that didn't deter Commanders general manager Martin Mayhew from taking him in the seventh round.
