Commanders Smartest Offseason Move: Where's QB Jacoby Brissett Rank?

Jacoby Brissett signing with the Washington Commanders was important for the team, but is it the smartest move of the offseason?
In this story:

The Washington Commanders have made some shrewd moves to improve the team this offseason. But what's the best move the team has made so far?

According to Bleacher Report, signing former Cleveland Browns quarterback Jacoby Brissett takes the cake.

"Brissett started 11 games for the Browns in 2022 and finished with 2,608 yards with 12 touchdowns, six interceptions and an 88.9 passer rating," Bleacher Report writes. "He also rushed for 243 yards, two touchdowns and 28 first downs. Brissett never publicly complained about being a placeholder in Cleveland, and he should be a terrific leader for the Commanders whether he's in the huddle or on the sideline. This was a terrific signing based on what the Commanders are trying to do at quarterback, and it came at a bargain price (one year, $8 million)."

With Brissett in the fold, he will compete alongside second-year pro Sam Howell for the starting job this fall.

Brissett, 30, started 11 games last season for the Cleveland Browns and is playing for his fourth franchise in four years, giving him experience around the league with a wide variety of coaching systems, all of which he can help bestow the knowledge of upon Howell.

So not only are the Commanders bringing in a player who could start in case of emergency, but in the locker room, he can he cultivate a winning culture Washington has craved for years.
