Washington Ex Trent Williams Retirement? 49ers Star Reveals Post-Super Bowl Plan
LAS VEGAS - It is an understandable question. Trent Williams, who been one of the NFL's best offensive linemen over the last decade, first with the Washington Commanders and now with the Super Bowl-entrant San Francisco 49ers, will turn 36 this summer.
He will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day, with all of his All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections on his resume. And if he can help the Niners beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday here in Las Vegas?
Sure, a retirement would be a fitting way to end it all ... in the minds of some.
But not in the mind of Williams himself.
"I haven't thought about an end," Williams said ahead of Sunday's game. "I know I'm definitely in for the next couple of years, I'll revisit it after that ..."
Williams is an 11-time Pro Bowl selection and a four-time All-Pro. He was traded in 2020 but was also named to the Washington Commanders' list of the 90 greatest players in franchise history.

This is his first Super Bowl. But no, winning won't cause him to wish to shut it down, he insisted. To the contrary ...
"Winning on Sunday," said the main blocker and top protector for stellar teammates like Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy, "will only make me want to win another one next year."
