There will be blood. Yes, there will indeed.

With no further delay, here's how we see the Washington Redskins initial 53-man roster of the season. It's initial, because it almost certainly will change after Saturday's deadline. Standard caveat, if the team trades either Trent Williams or Josh Doctson, all bets are off.

Quarterbacks (3)

Glory! Glory?

Case Keenum, backed up by Colt McCoy, backed up by Dwayne Haskins. McCoy is the in-game backup (once healthy) and Haskins the long-term sub.

Running Backs (4)

Derrius Guice, Adrian Peterson and Chris Thomspon get the lion's share of the duties, in that order, and Samaje Perine is the inactive back most weeks barring injury.

Wide Receivers (7)

We're going long here because Josh Doctson is either on the club or is traded. Paul Richardson and Terry McLaurin starting on the outside, Trey Quinn will be in the slot. Cam Sims and Robert Davis are the primary backups and Kelvin Harmon likely the inactive guy on game days, again, barring injury.

Tight Ends (3)

Help him, help himself.

Jordan Reed needs someone to hide his helmet for his own sake, but as long as he's not retired, hes TE1, backed up by the ageless Vernon Davis and the impressive youngster Jeremy Sprinkle.

Offensive Line (9)

Donald Penn and Ereck Flowers starting on the left side, who saw that coming in February? Chase Roullier in the middle, Brandon Scherff's goodbye tour at right guard and Morgan Moses round out the starting five. Wes Martin, Geron Christian, Tony Bergstrom and Ross Pierschbacher are the hopeful young guns, with the latter two likely being game-day inactives Week 1.

Call Trent. Now.

Defensive Line (5)

Matt Ioannidis doesn't get the credit he derserves and having Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne is one of the more enticing 30 fronts in the league. Tim Settle and Caleb Brantley are quality rotational pieces, as well.

Outside Linebackers (4)

Ryan Kerrigan is hands down the most underrated player in the NFL. I have a feeling Ryan Anderson starts but Montez Sweat gets more snaps in short order. Cassanova McKinzy rounds out the group after a very strong preseason.

Inside Linebackers (5)

Jon Bostic was a great, late signing and Shaun Dion Hamilton provides quality play, as does Josh Harvey-Clemons. Cole Holecomb makes a nice fourth wheel and Marquis Flowers is a great special teams guy.

Cornerbacks (6)

Jimmaaayy!
Jimmaaayy!

Josh Norman is still the leader and Quinton Dunbar will start opposite him. Rookie Jimmy Moreland will start in the slot sooner or later, and with Fabien Moreau's injury the time may be now. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is versatile enough to play anywhere. Greg Stroman rounds out the group.

Safeties (4)

Landon Collins is the leader and enforcer, with Montae Nicholson, Troy Apke and Deshazor Everett rounding out the troops.

Specialists (3)

Dustin Hopkins, Tress Way, Nick Sunberg.

Le fin.
