How to Watch: Coverage map, live stream, wager info for Redskins-Bears Week 3
It's only Week 3 of the 2019-20 NFL season, but already, the Washington Redskins are faced with what many would consider a must-win situation against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. Although must-win may seem dramatic on the surface, with what we've seen so far, the difference between an 0-3 start and a 1-2 start can be huge - especially for what it means for job retention.
Changes should certainly be coming with what would be the fifth-straight loss dating back to last season, but for now, most of that pressure falls on defensive coordinator Greg Manusky and his unit which (again) received off-season hype that has proved to be unsustainable. Through two games, the Redskins defense sits in the bottom three for yards (445 ypg.) and points (31.5 ppg.), and although injuries have played a role, that’s not enough to explain three touchdown passes of 50 or more yards or 336 rushing yards combined in two weeks which fall more on schemes and knowing assignments.
But, it’s not all bad … yet. The Redskins have an opportunity to turn the ship Monday with the Bears facing issues of their own. Granted, Chicago still boasts one of the league’s most feared defenses, it is the offense that has struggled with Mitch Trubisky showing major regression in his ability to move the ball downfield with the Bears scoring just 9.5 points per game this season. Rookie David Montgomery is expected to receive an uptick in usage this week as the Bears look to expose the weaknesses in the Redskins secondary.
With a win the current Redskins will finally have momentum to be able to build off of, but with a loss? Well, those fantasies of Terry McLaurin catching passes from Dwayne Haskins again may come to fruition sooner than expected.
No matter what, we’ll all be able to see it unfold on primetime -- here's all the information you need to know about Week Three.
