Peterson, Reed highlight Redskins-Eagles Week 1 inactives

The official inactive lists for the Week 1 tilt between the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The inactive list is official for the Washington Redskins season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. It was reported early Sunday morning that Adrian Peterson would be a healthy scratch, which has been confirmed.

For the Redskins, both quarterback Colt McCoy and cornerback Fabian Moreau had been ruled out ahead of Sunday’s announcement as they continue recovering from injuries. Moreau is still rehabbing the ankle injury suffered in mid-August while McCoy is still attempting to return from a fractured fibia he suffered last season that required two separate surgeries.

Rookie sensation and seventh-round pick Jimmy Moreland will look to capitalize on Moreau's absence in hopes to Wally Pipp him.

Tight end Jordan Reed, who is still suffering from the aftermath of yet another concussion will also not be playing. His duties will fall largely on veteran tight end Vernon Davis.

For the Eagles, linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill is out. He will be largely replaced by former Washington linebacker Zach Brown. Here is the list in its entirety for the Eagles.
