WATCH: Washington Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. Scores TD vs. New England Patriots
The Washington Commanders are adding some real estate in the end zone against the New England Patriots on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
On the team's second drive of the game, the Commanders completed an 11-play, 80-yard drive that ended in a 9-yard touchdown run from Brian Robinson Jr.
Here's a look at the play ...
For Robinson, the touchdown marks his seventh touchdown in nine games, which leads the team. He's proving to be a strong part of the offense and one of the league's top running backs.
The Commanders were very balanced on the drive, getting contributions from several different sources, including a big 26-yard catch from backup receiver Byron Pringle to get the team near midfield.
The team also converted a big third down with Antonio Gibson catching a pass from Sam Howell that got the team squarely in field goal range. But the Commanders didn't settle ... Washington finished the drive off and ran down the field for a touchdown.
The Commanders are off to a strong start against the Patriots, but they have to keep the foot on the gas. Last week, they held a multi-score lead against the Philadelphia Eagles, but they were unable to finish off the win. While the Pats are not on the same level of quality that the Eagles are, the Commanders cannot let anything let up, especially considering it is still early in the second quarter.
The Commanders hold a 10-0 lead against the Pats early into the second quarter.
