The Washington Commanders are a massive underdog today against the San Francisco 49ers, but don't tell them that.

In the second quarter, the Commanders evened the score at 10-10 with a 2-yard touchdown to receiver Terry McLaurin.

Here's a look at the play ...

Even though he wasn't supposed to start today, quarterback Sam Howell is playing the best football he's played in the past three weeks. So far today, Howell has completed 9 of 13 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown.

The touchdown grab was McLaurin's fourth catch of the day, and he's racked up 61 of Howell's 100 yards. The score is McLaurin's fourth touchdown of the year and he's quietly had another good season amidst a disappointing one for Washington.

Commanders Select Potential Franchise QB in 2024 NFL Mock Draft

If the Commanders want to shake up the NFC and pull out a major upset, more plays like this will be needed in the second half.

The Commanders and Niners are tied 10-10 late in the second quarter.
