49ers vs Redskins: Forecast calls for rainy, wet conditions in Week 7

There appears to be a clearing in the forecast for the start of the Washington Redskins' Week 7 game when they host the San Francisco 49ers. The rain is hard and heavy Sunday morning in Landover, MD, and looks to continue throughout the remainder of the morning.

According to Accuweather's hourly forecast, there should be a break in the downpour while the two teams hit the grass at FedEx Field, but that will be short lived. As the rain clears out for the start of the game at 1:00 p.m., the remainder of the afternoon appears to be washed out.

Rain re-enters the hourly forecast for the 2:00 p.m. hour and stays for the remainder of the game-time window. The results could be a sloppy fest that potentially evens the playing field between the mismatch opponents.

Wind gusts of 10 mph don't seem much, but with a slick ball that will need to be wiped off after almost every play, things could get tricky for the passing attacks led by Jimmy Garoppolo and Case Keenum. Both quarterbacks have a penchant for interceptions, which could lead to a defensive struggle.

On the ground, the 49ers have a distinct advantage, but Washington has voiced their desire to be more dedicated to the running game. That could mean a big dose for veteran Adrian Peterson, whose power running could lead to some missed tackles as defenders look to try and grab hold of his jersey as he plunges through the line.

The 49ers will be without their vital-cog fullback Kyle Juszczyk, and RB Raheem Mosert will be a game-time decision with a bad knee, forcing them to rely on Tevin Coleman.
