Dallas Cowboys Ex La'el Collins Signs With Buffalo Bills
Former Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle La'el Collins is on the move again as he signed a one-year with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports.
Collins, 30, joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2015. The LSU product was projected to be a first-round pick that year, but fell out of the draft completely when he was named in a murder investigation, even though he was never arrested or actually named a suspect.
Dallas gave Collins a chance, though, and it definitely worked out for both parties. Collins started 71 of the 74 games he appeared in for the Cowboys and provided quality blocking at multiple positions. He was never a Pro Bowl selection, but he still did a solid job of holding down the fort up front.
In 2022, the Cowboys released Collins with three years remaining on his contract after they failed to find a trade partner.
Collins would then sign with the Cincinnati Bengals, starting the first 15 games of the season for his new team before suffering a severe knee injury. The Bengals then released him in September of 2023, and he would not appear during the regular season. He actually signed to the Cowboys' practice squad in January, but never made his way to the active roster.
Collins now gets a chance to block for Josh Allen and co. in Buffalo in hopes of resurrecting his career.
