Another Dallas Cowboys Firing Victim’: Coach Frank Reich Out in Carolina
FRISCO - On the heels of the Dallas Cowboys’ demolition of the Commanders by a score of 45-10 on Thanksgiving Day, Washington made coaching changes, head coach Ron Rivera hanging on to his job by a thread while announcing the firing of two staffers, including long-time defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio.
We suggested then that playing against the Cowboys - and losing by an embarrassing score - could lead to “more damage done to the NFL coaching fraternity once the 8-3 Cowboys are done doing their business.
And now it’s happened again, with the Carolina Panthers - having been crushed by Dallas five days before Thanksgiving and now dropping to 1-10 with a Sunday loss - firing coach Frank Reich even though he’s been on the job for less than one year.
Who else might be shoved into the unemployment line by Dallas’ success?
As we suggested a few days ago …
Bill Belichick was embarrassed by Dallas earlier this year; the New England Patriots are eyeing change.
Brandon Staley’s Los Angeles Chargers lost a home game to Dallas earlier this year.
Brian Daboll of the New York Giants? seat? If he’s on the hot seat, two blowout losses at the hands of the Cowboys have contributed.
The Buffalo Bills are now a disappointment. … and coach Sean McDermott plays host to Dallas late in the year.
We still hear so much junk coming out of the national media about the possibility of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones firing Mike McCarthy. And it is more unfair than ever, as Dallas is in fact contributing to coaches getting fired …
Just not to Cowboys coaches getting fired.
