'Can I Be Unstoppable?' Dallas Cowboys' Micah Parsons Scouting Report from Eagles QB Jalen Hurts
FRISCO - The Philadelphia Eagles are ready to roll into AT&T Stadium to take on the Dallas Cowboys in a "Sunday Night Football'' showdown that figures to showcase two of the best in the business, one on each side of the ball for each team.
Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is wisely praising Dallas "Lion-backer'' Micah Parsons - a smart move to play nice - and Parsons is countering by avoiding talking anti-Eagles trash ...
But still, as always, talking pro-Micah stuff.
What does Hurts, leader of the 10-2 Eagles offense, think of Parsons, defensive leader of the 9-3 'Boys?
“He's a really good player,” Hurts said. “These guys have a different type of edge rusher, with him being a big-time player. There are a lot of other guys who are big-time players on that team, and you have to account for all of them.”
See? Nice and smart. And what does Parsons think of the matchup? And of himself? In a word, "Un-(bleep)-with-able.''
"For me, it's all about the progression of the mentality," Parsons said. "Sometimes, you're not going to get sacks. Sometimes, they're going to get it out. It just may not fall into your lap. But just the effort, the motor, can you keep going? Can you not let this faze you?''
"For me, that was one of the biggest things: Can I keep going? Can I not be fazed? Can I be unstoppable - 'un-(bleep)-with-able' - throughout the whole four quarters?''
It's a large - but for Parsons - achievable goal. His motor is unexcelled, and so is his talent. ... even as he enters tonight on the injury list as he's come down with an illness, possibly the flu.
Still, as successful as Dallas has been against NFC East foes, the last time these two teams played, Philly got the 28-23 home win - setting up the Eagles to again rule the division with a win. And even before that, Parsons proclaimed the Eagles as the best team in the NFL.
An Eagles loss, however, would mean the two teams would essentially be tied atop the NFC East.
Cowboys' Micah Parsons Ranks Eagles No. 1 in NFL
Hurts is hobbling a bit with a balky knee. ... and the Cowboys will take that advantage, if available, in what Micah predicts will be an "ice pack'' game - that is to say, a physical one.
How Hurts fares here might determine an NFL MVP race that features him and Dallas QB Dak Prescott.
And how Micah Parsons fares? "Unstoppable - 'un-(bleep)-with-able''' - would work just fine.
