'We Don't Care!' Cowboys Dak Prescott On Odd Titans Playoff Race
"I don't ever really care.''
That's the message from Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys this week at it applies to the odd circumstances of the opponent.
With a playoff berth secured, Dallas (11-4) takes on the Tennessee Titans (7-8) in an odd situation.
The Titans' game on Thursday night is essentially a practice event as the outcome means nothing, because the AFC South will be decided against the Jacksonville Jaguars the following week.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel could therefore rest key players on Thursday night. Interesting ... But Cowboys quarterback Prescott is burdened by none of this.
"Honestly, I don't ever really care what they're doing on the other side," Prescott said. "It's about us just building momentum and gaining confidence with each game and moving forward as we play these last two [games] out and move over into the postseason."
Vrabel said earlier in the week that there are a host of players who are not fully fit ahead of Thursday's game.
"We've got some guys who have played a lot of football for us that are far less than 100 percent," he said. "It's those guys that I appreciate that, no matter what, find a way to be here for this team. So we'll try to figure out who we have and who's available and then make some decisions."
Dallas gained confidence from the 40-34 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but maybe that edge will be lessened if they slip up against a Tennessee team that has lost five consecutive games.
Winning at Tennessee and then again at Washington in Week 18 would mean the Cowboys won seven of their last eight games.
That's serious momentum right there.
But momentum means nothing if Dallas is focusing too much on what its opponents are doing. As Dak put it, they will therefore focus on confidence, momentum and securing that 12th win.
