Careful, Cowboys! QB Mac Jones 'Doing Dirty S***!' in New England Patriots at Dallas?
FRISCO - The NFL is a mean and rough and nasty game ... and sometimes it's a "dirty'' game ... unless it involves New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones.
As the Dallas Cowboys prepare to host the Patriots in NFL Week 4, they may need an extra layer of preparation - or maybe even "protection'' - due to Jones' unusual knack for stirring up trouble.
The QB didn't get fined for his kick to the groin of New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner ... but that doesn't mean he didn't do it - again.
Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay is among the many who have pointed out the problem, quoting a Gardner post with the comment, "He stay doin' dirty s---!!"
Former NFL defensive end Chris Long, who won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2016, labeled Jones a "Top 5 Dirtiest QB of all time.'' Former New York Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes labeled Jones a "repeat offender" ... and yes, it is so obvious that Jones "plays dirty'' that even Patriots and kickers say it is so.
Jones has argued back, claiming that nothing is "intentional" ... but one of Jones' former teammates, Devin McCourty, has now spoken about it.
“I won’t call Mac a dirty player because I know him personally, and I think he’s a good dude; he’s a good kid," McCourty recently said in an interview on WEEI's Greg Hill Show. "But, I will say that he has to stop being around these incidents. ... It’s getting to the point where, ‘is it intentional? Is it on purpose?''
One of Jones' greatest tricks (also a tool of the GOAT Tom Brady): A QB slide with cleats high ... in search of an opponent's sensitive spots.
The 2-1 Cowboys have to concern themselves with all the things the 1-2 Patriots might do well here at AT&T Stadium on Sunday. But when Mac Jones is on the field? The other team also must concern itself with maybe wearing nut cups.
