CeeDee Lamb 'Tired of Getting Close!' - And Of Cowboys Dak Prescott Criticism
FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys have endured many criticisms since their season-ending loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round. But no Cowboys player has taken more heat than quarterback Dak Prescott.
CeeDee Lamb is tired of the criticism. But he's also tired of the Cowboys falling a bit short.
"I'm trying to make it to the Big Game. I'm tired of getting close," said Lamb, who emerged this year as a premium-level NFL receiver. "I've only been in the playoffs two years. This is the farthest I've gotten and I'm tired of the teases."
The truth: Lamb has been a Cowboy for three seasons, so a long-time member of Cowboys Nation might remind him that given a quarter-of-a-century drought when it comes to Dallas championship games, CeeDee ain't seen nothin' yet. (Oh. And if haven’t seen his new Kobe tattoo, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet, either …)
Meanwhile, with his QB under fire after a two-interception performance that capped off a regular season in which Prescott threw a league-high 15 interceptions, Lamb is coming to his defense.
"Some experts don't know anything; I'm going to be honest. Because they swear they know Dak inside and out," Lamb said, via USA Today. "Unfortunately we had a couple turnovers ... One guy, one play, it could go either way. I feel like we could have had one more guy step up in the San Francisco game and it could have been different ...
"But every story is written in a different way."
Lamb's position that he's "tired of the teases'' as it regards Cowboys teams "almost'' reaching the next level could serve as inspiration inside The Star for a bigger push to the "Big Game.''
But again, those "teases'' are a frustration shared by all in Cowboys Nation, of course - and for a lot longer than Lamb's three NFL seasons.
