Colin Kaepernick to Replace Cowboys Ex Kellen Moore on Jim Harbaugh Chargers Staff?
FRISCO - In regard to Colin Kaepernick's desire to return to the NFL? He has his supporters ... but in part because he's 36 and hasn't played professional football since 2016, none of his supporters are in charge of actual NFL teams.
Unless, that is, he a) just found a supporter in charge and b) wants to give up the idea of actually playing.
With Jim Harbaugh now hired to coach the Los Angeles Chargers, there is now speculation about a new way for the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback to reignite his career. Harbaugh drafted Kaepernick. They went to a Super Bowl together.
There is a relationship there, as Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio has noted.
Can he coach? Interestingly, from a Dallas Cowboys perspective, the Harbaugh move - and the moves he's about to make - impact Kellen Moore, the former Dallas offensive coordinator who spent last year in that role with the Chargers.
Harbaugh Hired; Quinn Moves to Seattle for 2nd Interview
Moore was granted a courtesy interview by the Chargers before they made their big Harbaugh splash. There is of course no reason to assume that the new boss will retain Moore, as Harbaugh will surely fill his staff with long-time trusted aides, from Michigan, for starters. ...
And then maybe with Kaepernick, who might be the quarterback coach sliding into an office space once occupied by Kellen.
