Cowboys' Micah Parsons Boldly Predicts Eagles & Lions to Lose in Playoffs Wild Card Weekend
FRISCO - Why is Micah Parsons engaging in the highly unorthodox act of making predictions for this weekend's NFL Playoff games?
Our only explanation: Micah Parsons is highly unorthodox.
While some would argue that focusing on QB Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers - who are, you know, this week's playoff opponent for Micah's Dallas Cowboys - The "Lion-backer'' has once again chosen to use his forum (here, his The Edge podcast) to say whatever it is he wants to say, about whatever subject strikes his fancy. And so ...
He's raising eyebrows, for instance, by picking the Philadelphia Eagles and the Detroit Lions - two teams that could be in Dallas' playoff path - to lose their opening-round games.
Oh my.
And on and on he goes, getting specific about, for instance, why the Miami Dolphins will upset the home-standing Kansas City Chiefs - and he's doing so with a maybe too-frank assessment.
"These injuries are just killing the Dolphins, (but) I will continue to go with the Dolphins because the Chiefs struggle offensively,'' Micah said, adding that Patrick Mahomes' guys have one particular problem. "I'm afraid those turnovers, the drops, will cost them this game.''
Oh my.
Irvin Warns Micah About Trash Talk: 'Focus On Winning!'
The All-Pro Parsons, a leading candidate for Defensive Player of the Year, has been publicly nudged by none other than Cowboys legend Michael Irvin to reel in his opinions on world affairs and whatnot to instead zero in on the most important goal.
"Focus on winning!'' Irvin said - to Micah - on national TV.
And maybe Parsons is doing exactly that beginning right now. But to start the week?
"We have to go Bucs (over Philly),'' Micah said, adding that "the Eagles have more talent'' are dealing with adversity.''
And he is also "going'' Rams over the Lions in Detroit.
Oh my.
Parsons also picked the Cleveland Browns over the Texans and the Buffalo Bills over the Steelers.
Oh my.
