Cowboys' Micah Parsons Responds to D'Andre Swift Eagles (Fake?) Troll Trashing Dallas

Micah Parsons fires back at Eagles newcomer D’Andre Swift for taking jabs at the Cowboys franchise … but it seems the whole thing was a hoax.

FRISCO - If newly minted Philadelphia Eagles running back D’Andre Swift really has the wit to answer a question at his introductory press conference in the way it's been alleged, Swift - a Philly native - will never in the rest of his life have to pay for another cheesesteak sandwich again.

It is alleged that this week Swift claimed to have chosen to wear jersey No. 0 because “that’s how many times the Cowboys have been to an NFC Championship game in my lifetime.”

Seriously, that's a clever burn that puts "America’s Team'' in its place while elevating Swift, acquired during NFL Draft weekend via trade with Detroit, to icon status in Philadelphia. And when Dallas star Micah Parsons (who grew up two hours outside of Philly in Harrisburg) barked back by trying to put Swift in his place?

The guy laughing the hardest is Twitter troll and Eagles fan "Marlo Stanfield,'' who also ties himself with "Boo Radley.''

"Marlo Stanfield'' is the person behind the quote. We've checked with the beat writers who attended the Swift press conference; they are unaware of him saying any such thing. So Parsons - who replied to Swift saying that the running back “just pulled up on the block'' - seems to have been duped.

Parsons, busy beefing up a bit for the season, has since realized this and has taken down his tweet. But "Marlo Stanfield'' seems to be celebrating fooling the world, and we're not exaggerating here. With no verification of the quote's accuracy, countless newspapers and media outlets have regurgitated the story and so far, three million people have viewed the post on Twitter.

"Marlo Stanfield'' is, by the way, a fictional character from HBO show "The Wire.'' And "Boo Radley'' is a fictional character from Harper Lee's classic book "To Kill a Mockingbird.''And it seems the only thing that's real here is the NFC East rivalry of Dallas and Philly being stoked in most every offseason way possible.
