Dak Prescott 'No' To Netflix 'Quarterback'; Cowboys Star Reveals 'Shocking' Why

In one of the most shocking "America's Team'' outcomes ever, Dak Prescott is here in Oxnard at training camp revealing the "why'' he said "no'' to Netflix' "Quarterback.''

OXNARD, Calif. - In what counts as one of the most predictable media-related moves of all time, the good people at Netflix' "Quarterback'' asked Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott to be a participant.

And in one of the most shocking "America's Team'' outcomes, Prescott is here in Oxnard at training camp for his Thursday media visit revealing the "why'' he said "no.''

“I get enough media,'' Prescott told us. "This team gets enough coverage.”

Ya think?! One can imagine the Netflix response: "Yeah, but ... when have you ever said 'no' to a TV opportunity''? And that can be taken in two ways. On the one hand, Prescott is famously cooperative with the media. (And we are thankful for that). And yet ... One of the reasons we see him on TV so often (the "controversial'' Bud Light campaign marks his latest involvement) is because those are endorsements. He get paid.

That is not really the setup for NFL Films and the people who put together the well-crafted and successful series, which debuted this year with Peyton Manning as the executive producer and with the Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, the Vikings' Kirk Cousins and the Falcons' Marcus Mariota as the subjects ... compete with cameras in the living room and in their cars and ... well, way more than football.

Prescott, who enters his eighth NFL season as he approaches his 30th birthday this weekend, said he was approached a year ago and then a second time to do the “Quarterback” show on Netflix.

His response is amazing on two levels. First, he claimed, “I’m not a TV guy. ..I haven’t seen it.” What he means, of course, is that he's not a "TV-watching guy.'' (Because he is certainly an "on-TV guy.'' And then a next-level response that nicely fits the intellect required of an NFL quarterback.

“I asked Peyton (Manning) if he would do it if he was me,'' revealed Prescott ... and maybe he is suggesting that his decision was influenced by the very person who serves as the exec producer of the show.
