Grading Dak Prescott: PFF Ranking of Dallas Cowboys QB Reveals New Angle

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was among PFF's highest-graded players after the win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had one of his best performances of the season in the 20-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers

He earned an overall grade of 90.0 from Pro Football Focus, making him the the fourth-highest graded offensive player for the network and its highest graded NFL quarterback of Week 6.

Prescott had a sound game both through the air and on the ground, earning a lot of positive attention for the way he was able to use his legs to create plays in scenarios in which some quarterbacks would have faltered.

The Mississippi State product finished out with a completion rate of 70%, passing for 272 yards with one touchdown and rushing for 40 yards on four carries for another score.

Prescott played a "clean'' game without a single turnover-worthy play. This becomes especially more impressive when considering he was pressured on nearly 40 percent of his drop backs.

PFF's Khaled Elsayed had high praise for Prescott that was well-reflected within the numbers and the film.

"Dak Prescott was exceptional on plays that took 2.5 seconds or longer, earning the best grade of all QBs to have at least 15 dropbacks in this facet with a 90.0 grade," he wrote. "This was powered by two big-time throws and 172 yards on 27 dropbacks."

Prescott did nothing short of deliver in what he deemed a "must-win" game for Dallas.

"(Shoot), yeah, it was a must-win," Prescott said after the game. "Second road win of the year against a great team ... We talked last week about not allowing this thing to landslide, and I just think a win like that allows you to really close that book."
