Cowboys BREAKING: Micah Parsons OUT of Practice with Leg Injury - Report
The Dallas Cowboys were already working through some injury issues entering the Tuesday workout at training camp in Oxnard ... but none of those compare in importance to what just reportedly unfolded in Oxnard.
Micah Parsons was forced to exit the practice with an apparent injury to his lower leg. He got his calf area taped up by the training staff and remained on the sideline, not returning to the workout itself.
Parsons indicated that he got kicked in the leg and that he would have the medical staff take an extended look at the issue.
He did however say, "It's just something that happened to me, its football ... I'm not worried about it."
Micah's exit coincided with the first appearance of the just-re-signed All-Pro guard Zack Martin, the news of his signing causing an "eruption'' of positivity in camp.
But waiting on Parsons news will take some of the edge off that enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, an assortment of young defensive players, including Viliami Fehoko Jr., Nahshon Wright, and Malik Jefferson, are uncertain for Saturday's preseason action against the Seattle Seahawks. ... a game that Micah was destined to watch, as coach Mike McCarthy has essentially declared that his top two dozen or so Cowboys will not be playing in the preseason.
Dallas is also working through two injury issues on offense with running back Ronald Jones (groin) and offensive lineman Chuma Edoga (knee). But again, with no disrespect to those players, Parsons may be the best player on the roster, and he's in the conversation for best player in the NFL. So getting him healthy before the Week 1 opener against the New York Giants is suddenly Storyline No. 1 in Oxnard.
