'Buck Up!' Cowboys' Zack Martin Ready For Home-Game 'Magic' vs. Lions

The Dallas Cowboys fell to another road defeat to the Miami Dolphins with Zack Martin stating that with the likelihood of road playoff games on the schedule, the team has to buck up and perform.

The Dallas Cowboys' inability to win games against quality opponents on the road continues to be a thorn in their side.

With there now being a high chance that Dallas will be on the road for the entirety of the postseason, the Cowboys will eventually come face-to-face with one of their biggest issues ... on the biggest stage.

But for now? Maybe enjoying the "magic'' of being at home at AT&T Stadium is worth embracing.

“I think we competed well I think we had some kind of uncharacteristic mental mistakes,” Martin said of the close 22-20 loss at Miami last week. “It's frustrating, you go on the road and play another good team and you think you're going get over the hump and you come up a little bit short.

"You got to take things from games like that and learn from them. (In the playoffs), we're probably going to have to be on the road so we're going to have to buck up and play well on the road.”

For all the struggles the Cowboys have had on the road this season (3-5), at home, they have been automatic, reeling off 15 straight, including all seven this year.

Martin is at a loss to explain exactly what goes so well at AT&T Stadium and in perhaps what is a little peak into the mindset of the locker room right now, the All-Pro guard went back to the team's struggles on the road.

“I can't really put my finger on it; we've just been clicking there,” Martin said of the team's home form. “We've got to be better on the road right, we got to try to find some of that magic we have at home and take it on the road. But guys are locked in ready to go and excited to be back at AT&T.”

Some of that "magic" wouldn't go astray in the playoffs because as it stands, Dallas would have an identical path to last year - play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then the San Francisco 49ers ... both on the road.

But first, the 10-5 Cowboys must take care of business as a confident 12-4 Detroit Lions team comes to AT&T Stadium as they look to be the first team to beat Dallas in its building since Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in Week 1 of last season.

The Cowboys are "pissed," as Dak Prescott stated and will need some of that home "magic" if they are to snap their two-game losing streak and maintain their 100 percent record at home this season.

Road woes? Maybe that's an issue for another day. Keep winning at home? That's on the front burner now.
