Dallas Cowboys React to CeeDee Lamb Frustration: 'Great Players Want The Ball!’

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb wasn't shy about letting his frustrations be known after the San Francisco 49ers loss, and wide receiver's coach Robert Prince gave insight into Lamb's irritation.

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb didn't hide his frustrations after the loss to the San Francisco 49ers, as he only had four catches for 49 yards.

Much was made of Lamb's demeanor on the sidelines during the game, which saw him physically position himself away from the rest of his teammates. Trouble? Not quite.

Lamb just wanted to help his team, and the following week against the Los Angeles Chargers, his number was called early and often as he caught all seven targets for 117 yards in a stellar display.

Reciever's coach Robert Prince offered an insight into Lamb's frustrations after the 49ers game as he met with the media during Dallas' bye week.

“CeeDee’s a great player, and all great players want the ball,” Prince said. “The reason why they want the ball is because they know if they get it, they can help us win. So that’s what his frustration is. It's not towards anything else, and that’s all he wants to do is help contribute to win the game.”

In Lamb’s rather short and blunt post-game media session after the loss against the 49ers, he had few answers.

But Lamb worked himself away from pouting, with the help of conferences with Coach Mike McCarthy and QB Dak Prescott.

Price and Lamb also visited, and got everything out in the open, which led to one of the receiver's best showings of the season.

“We had a talk, and he let out his frustrations, and he knows he has to handle it better,” Prince said. “He did, and it was great to see when his number was called, he made plays.”

Going forward, getting Lamb going early seems to be the key to the Cowboys' success in the "Texas Coast Offense," as good things happen when No. 88 touches the ball.

As for dealing with his frustrations, Lamb and Prince are on the same wavelength, and the next time things start to go south, we imagine that Lamb will deal with those emotions significantly better with the words of his receiver coach ringing in his ears.
