CeeDee Lamb Warns NFL (and Madden): Cowboys 'Best' Yet to Come
Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb may be coming off a career year, but he insists that the best of No. 88 is yet to come.
“It should be better come 2025," Lamb said as the Cowboys work at training camp in Oxnard. “I know I haven’t put my best out there yet. For me to get this high of a ranking is cool, but keep in mind, I did not have Dak for a full season.”
In the minds of the rating adjustors at Madden, Lamb ranks as the 10th-best receiver in the league with his 90 overall grade. Good stuff, but Lamb is warning of more.
Lamb put together an impressive season in 2022, totaling 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns on 107 receptions, despite only having Dak Prescott on the field in 12 of the 17 games. ... And it wasn't the first time that Lamb hadn't had the same quarterback under center for every game.
Since Lamb entered the league in 2020, Prescott has missed time in at least one game. Prescott played in just five games during the former Oklahoma Sooner's rookie season before being sidelined with a broken ankle. In 2021, a calf injury saw Prescott miss a game, and most recently, he missed five games this past season due to a fractured thumb.
So, for now, Lamb is "cool" with his Madden rating, yet with a complete season from his quarterback Prescott, that 90 overall may not be good enough once 2023 unfolds.
