Dallas Cowboys CeeDee Lamb First Comments on 'Mom vs. Dak Prescott's A**': 'No Beef!'
In the aftermath of the Dallas Cowboys 48-32 Wild Card round loss to the Green Bay Packers, receiver CeeDee Lamb found himself in the middle of a social media storm — stemming from his mother’s social media commentary on the performance of quarterback Dak Prescott.
Lamb on Friday finally set the record straight not only on his mom’s remarks, but most importantly on his relationship with Prescott.
“Let’s get the elephant out of the room ... I know what my mom said,” Lamb said as a guest on teammate Micah Parsons’ The Edge podcast. “Once again, and I’m gonna repeat this … NO! I have no beef with my quarterback! I love my dawg [Prescott.] He knows that.”
As Lamb’s chemistry with Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was being called into question by the Wild Card matchup’s live broadcast crew, his mother, Leta Ramirez, conspicuously questioned whether Prescott was the right quarterback to effectively guide the Cowboys to victory — most notably, by fully utilizing her son’s talents.
Ramirez first took to Facebook following the Cowboys' loss, posting, "DAK ISN'T IT!!!"
She continued to berate the Cowboys quarterback by replying to comments on her post, one of which was pointed at Prescott’s future with the team.
"They need to get rid of his a**!" Ramirez wrote before accusing Prescott of not properly valuing the team’s pursuit of a Super Bowl ring. She then took aim at his on-field relationship with Lamb, declaring her son "deserves better."
While those comments alone were sufficiently inflammatory, Ramirez added another accelerant while agreeing with a Houston Texans fan clamoring for Lamb would join them.
"I wish he would! CJ [Stroud] is great," Ramirez replied.
Her account has since been made private.
Still, Lamb made it clear that his Ramirez’s comments were made out of frustration, and did not reflect any sentiments with which he may have confided in her.
“I don’t talk [to my mom] about sports or my personal problems,” Lamb said. “She is just being a mom. She knows her son … sees me come home mad, especially when we lose. She just voiced her opinion on Facebook.”
Added Lamb: "Dak can definitely lead us [to a Super Bowl]. He just also needs other leaders.''
Following a breakout performance last year, Lamb turned in his most statistically impressive showing in 2023. The Oklahoma product started all 17 games (and one playoff matchup) for Dallas, while leading the NFL with 135 receptions and setting career-highs with 1,749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. Though his prowess stems from his effectiveness in the slot, Lamb continues to be mismatch for perimeter defenders, as well — cementing his place among the top receivers in the game today.

Despite the recent controversy, Lamb did his best to calm the rumors surrounding his desire to leave Dallas. With one year remaining on his contract at a guaranteed $17.9 million, parting with Lamb could be financially problematic. Fortunately, as contract negotiations are about to commence, the two-time All-Pro seems content to make a push for a Super Bowl championship with Prescott in 2024. ... with twin goals. ...
“Let’s go make some more millions,'' he said. "And, let’s go score some more touchdowns.”
