Cowboys Coach Dan Quinn Meets Longhorns LB: NFL Draft
FRISCO - Texas Longhorns linebacker DeMarvion Overshown has Dan Quinn’s attention.
“I’ve talked to the Cowboys a lot," Overshown said from the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.. "Dan Quinn, I’ve seen him a lot around the Texas facility while I was there (and have been) able to chop it up with him here during formal interviews …”
Overshown, maybe the Longhorns’ best defensive player, said he’d also met coordinator Quinn and staff at the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Overshown, who grew up just outside of the DFW area in Arp, is making it clear he has, throughout the NFL Draft process, met with the Cowboys multiple times.
That defense is amazing and being able to play along some of the other guys, it would be fun,” Overshown said of possibly being drafted by Dallas.
And what do the hometown Cowboys think of Overshown, the 6-4, 222-pounder considered a middle-round pick?
“[We had] great meetings," Overshown said. "We really just watched my film. They talked about how they loved my relentless effort and there is a lot that they can do with me in their system. It was a great overall formal interview with them.”
The Cowboys of course employ Micah Parsons as a hybrid linebacker but in that 2022 position-group room, Leighton Vander Esch, Anthony Barr and Luke Gifford are all about to hit free agency ... making Dallas' meetings with prospects something to watch.
