Dallas Cowboys ‘Coach-Killers’? Washington Fires Del Rio; Who’s Next Mike McCarthy Victim?

FRISCO - As a result of the Washington Commanders’ 45-10 Thanksgiving loss at the Dallas Cowboys, head coach Ron Rivera is hanging on to his job in D.C. … while on Friday announcing the firing of two staffers, including long-time defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio.

And yes, there could be more damage done to the NFL coaching fraternity once the 8-3 Cowboys are done doing their business.

New Commanders owner Josh Harris might wait until season’s end … but Rivera is expected by many to be fired after this season, which for Washington finishes up with a second game against the juggernaut Cowboys.

Who else might be shoved into change … and into the unemployment line … by Dallas’ success?

Bill Belichick was embarrassed by Dallas earlier this year. The legend is on the hot seat with the New England Patriots.

Brandon Staley has mostly embarrassed himself in Los Angeles Chargers at his press conferences. He lost a home game to Dallas earlier this year.

Is Brian Daboll on the New York hot seat? If so, the central reason is his two blowout losses at the hands of the Cowboys.

Is Frank Reich in trouble after just one season? If so, the biggest blemish on his record is a lopsided home loss to Dallas.

If the almost-great Buffalo Bills once again fail to get up and over the top, will coach Sean McDermott - whose team plays host to Dallas late in the year - pay the price?

Cowboys Rival Washington Commandes FIRE Defensive Coordinator

Funny thing: There has been an avalanche of speculative, and even irresponsible, coverage of the possibility of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones firing Mike McCarthy … when as it turns out, McCarthy’s out-coaching of so many of his colleagues/rivals could indeed lead to firings …

Of McCarthy’s colleagues/rivals.
