'The Conversation': Dallas Cowboys' Catalyst For 'Amazing' CeeDee Lamb & Dak Prescott

For Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb, it was the talk that NEEDED to happen. Something needed to change after the San Francisco 49ers debacle in which Lamb was uncharacteristically vocal about his displeasure of only having four catches.

With so much being made of Lamb's annoyance at his lack of targets, a talk involving Dak Prescott, coach Mike McCarthy, and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was organized to air out any grievances.

Since "that" talk, Lamb has ascended to a level not even he has been to in his Dallas career and has rattled off three consecutive 100-yard games (117 vs. Chargers, 158 vs. Rams, and 191 vs. the Philadelphia Eagles) along with two touchdowns.

Lamb has credited that talk as the catalyst for his form surge.

"I feel like without that conversation, I don't think we would've got really to where we are now," Lamb said. "I feel like the elevation in the offense is amazing. I'm grateful for that and grateful for Mike [McCarthy], the team in trusting in me. It was a good conversation."

Over the last three games, Lamb and Dak Prescott's connection has been nearly impossible to stop as the Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, and the Eagles have been powerless to stop the duo.

With Dak now having a wavelength with Lamb that has hit new heights, the Cowboys' offense feels vastly different.

Dak Prescott (4) and CeeDee Lamb (88) have been in great form over the last three weeks.

Dak Prescott (4) and CeeDee Lamb (88) have been in great form over the last three weeks.

As Lamb is now in his fourth season with Prescott, he revealed that nothing has changed regarding his upturn in form; it's more the off-field time spent together coming home to roost.

"Nothing is necessarily different," Lamb said. "There's just a lot of time that we worked on this offseason compared to any other offseason we've had. We had the full offseason together. A lot of bonding, a lot of time together, and it's showing. The trust in each other when I'm running my route, I'm seeing him, and he's seeing me."

The Dallas offense has looked polar opposite since coming out of the bye week, and Lamb appears to be the biggest beneficiary of Prescott being "cut loose," as McCarthy stated.

With the New York Giants next on the schedule and only giving up, on average, 225 passing yards per game this season, that will get a stern test with Prescott and Lamb in a white-hot form.

As Prescott and Lamb's connection strengthens with each passing week, just how far this duo can take the Cowboys this season is a tantalizing thought.

And the message for the Giants' defense on Sunday seems simple - stop them if you can.
