Dak Prescott Ponders Dallas Cowboys' 'Culture & Locker Room' Being 'Tested' By Blowout

The Dallas Cowboys were handed a soul-destroying lesson by a San Francisco 49ers juggernaut in a 42-10 loss and Dak Prescott knows that testing times are ahead.

There will be nowhere to hide for the Dallas Cowboys after the 42-10 blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium in a game where coach Mike McCarthy's team was handed a devastating reality check.

The national media will be sharpening their pitchforks and coming after everyone over the next few days, and quarterback Dak Prescott knows that this is the time to stick together, as there are some brutal assessments coming.

"We know how we've gotta approach it," Prescott said. "We know what's gonna come from this outside of our building, so it's about locking arms. Something we've always hung our hat on is our culture, our brotherhood within the locker room. Now more than ever, we're gonna be tested on that."

Dak is right. Everything will be fair game over the next 48 hours as the NFL world reacts to what was a performance that will no doubt have done some damage to Dallas' psyche.

The Cowboys were simply outmatched, outcoached, and outplayed in devastating fashion.

In total, the Dallas offense could muster eight first downs and went 3/11 on third down, while not even getting a sniff of entering the red zone as Prescott's unit could only manage 197 offensive yards.

For Dak, the constant missteps meant getting any kind of sustained drive against this 49ers defense was impossible.

"We didn't get any momentum ever," Prescott said. "We had the one drive and that was the only success of the night. It's a tough business, and when you're stepping on your own feet, not getting in a rhythm, you're making it harder. Against a team like that, it's near impossible."

Dallas did make a tough assignment even tougher against a San Francisco team that forces you to play mistake-free, the Cowboys came undone in a big way.

Dak is praised for his intangibles and now, more than ever in his Cowboys career, they will be called upon to ride out the monstrous storm that's coming - though his critics and even his supporters might argue that Prescott's intangibles don't matter if is performance is poor.

Buckle up Cowboys fans, it's going to be a long week.
