Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott 2nd to Lamar Jackson in MVP Voting

LAS VEGAS - Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott finished second as one of the five finalists for The Associated Press' 2023 NFL MVP Award, as revealed on Thursday here in Las Vegas.

This year’s winner: Lamar Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback, who wins his second such trophy, having won MVP for his 2019 season.

Joining Dak as the runners-up are Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and his teammate quarterback Brock Purdy and Prescott, Cowboys quarterback.

Three other Cowboys were up for two other awards in the category of Defensive Player of the Year, DaRon Bland, the Cowboys cornerback, and Micah Parsons, the Dallas edge rusher, were finalists, Micah finished second to Myles Garrett, the Browns defensive end, with T.J. Watt, Steelers linebacker, another runner-up.

The NFL Honors show was the setting for the announcements, all of which lead up to the Super Bowl on Sunday pitting the 49ers against the Chiefs.
