'Play Ball!' Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Attends Texas Rangers ALCS Game

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott showed support for another local team as he took in Friday's ALCS game between the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is taking full advantage of the bye week by showing some love to another local team.

On Friday, the Cowboys quarterback took in Game 5 of the ALCS between the local Texas Rangers and the rival Houston Astros at Globe Life Field. Of course, Prescott showed up decked out in Rangers gear in hopes of helping Texas retake the edge in the series.

Prescott is far from the first Dallas sports star to make an appearance at the ALCS. Former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo attended Game 4 on Thursday night, also in Arlington. Micah Parsons has made it out. Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic and 2023 Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Dirk Nowitski have also made appearances in the series.

Meanwhile, Houston has also had a handful of notable athletes show up. The two biggest names are former Houston Texans receiver Andre Johnson and Hall of Fame pitcher Reggie Jackson, who now serves as an advisor for the Astros.

Famous non-athletes to make an appearance during the series include former president George W. Bush, rapper Travis Scott and the band Creed, whose songs the Rangers have used to hype them up.

While the Rangers and Astros play in the same state, their situations couldn't be any more different. Texas is making its first ALCS appearance since 2011, when it lost the World Series in heartbreaking fashion against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Houston, meanwhile, has been the most dominant team in baseball for years now. The Astros are making their seventh straight ALCS appearance, and in that time, they've made four World Series appearances and won two championships.

For additional context, the Astros weren't even in the AL when the Rangers last made the ALCS, as Houston moved over from the NL in 2013.

After taking a 2-0 series lead on the road, the Rangers dropped all three games in Arlington and now face elimination. When the series shifts back to Houston on Sunday, the Rangers will be playing just to keep their championship hopes alive.
