Giving 'The Finger!' Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Reviews 'Friendly' Philadelphia Eagles Fans
FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys travel to "friendly" Philadelphia on Sunday to take on the NFC East division-leading Eagles, and quarterback Dak Prescott can't wait to see the fans.
Dallas and Philadelphia have a long history, and while the names on the jerseys change, the fans of each team remain steadfast in their dislike of the other side.
The current crop of players is no exception, and every time the Eagles make the trip to Arlington, or the Cowboys arrive in Philadelphia, it's never civil. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott expects to find animosity each trip up north. When asked about seeing peace signs from fans in the stadium, Prescott playfully replied, "Yeah, (but with) one of the fingers."
Prescott, who played collegiately in the super-competitive SEC, comared the atmosphere to his former college league. But the team knows the importance of the matchup on Sunday.
“It’s a matchup we’re looking forward to, I can promise you that, in Philly. Great opponent, excited for it. Trust me, the guys in the locker room, myself, we know what this game means.”
Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Philadelphia is a "unique" place to play because of the “friendly people.”
Sunday will be the 129th matchup between the two organizations including five in the postseason, and since the 1961 season, they've played twice per year. Dallas holds a 73-55 advantage.
The Cowboys are 7-3 the the last 10 games against the Eagles dating back to 2018, and a win on Sunday for either team makes a statement to the other as the two fight for the NFC East crown in 2023.
