WATCH: Dak Prescott to Jalen Tolbert TD Gives Cowboys 7-0 Lead vs. Commanders

It didn't take long for the Dallas Cowboys to stake out a lead over their NFC East rival, the Washington Commanders.

The Dallas Cowboys have taken an early 7-0 lead over their NFC East rival, the Washington Commanders.

Following Washington's opening drive that ended with a turnover on downs as they decided to go for it unsuccessfully on fourth-and-one, the Cowboys offense took over at their own 32-yard-line.

That is where quarterback Dak Prescott went to work. He led the Cowboys 67 yards in eight plays, where he found Jalen Tolbert in the back of the endzone for a three-yard touchdown pass.

It marked the 33 touchdown pass of the season for Prescott as he extended his league-leading total with a perfect opening drive for the Cowboys in a game where they can clinch the No. 2 seed in the playoff picture and win the NFC East. Additionally, it becomes just the second touchdown reception of Tolbert's career after he found his first in the 28-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Prescott completed all six of his passes on the drive for 57 yards as the Cowboys struck quickly to take an early advantage over the Commanders.
