'I’m Crazy!’ ‘Sedated’ Dak Prescott Tattoo Shocks Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott went under for almost half the day for a tattoo

There's an old adage that it's better to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission. … A mindset that rebellious teens and apparently franchise quarterbacks have in common.

When Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott showed up with a fully tatted leg, head coach Mike McCarthy was quite confused as to when his quarterback found the time to do so. Wondering if he had maybe undergone a handful of sessions as most do, McCarthy quickly learned that his quarterback instead decided to do it all at once. To do so he ended up being sedated for 11 hours to complete the tattoo according to the Star-Telegram.

If you aren't familiar with ink and how long it takes, typically a full-leg sleeve will take multiple sessions spanning days or even weeks. However, a new tattoo phenomenon has emerged which entails being sedated for extended periods of time to get it all done at once. This was the method of choice for the Dallas signal-caller.

When asked about Prescott's tattoo endeavor, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones didn't seem thrilled about just now finding out that he went under without telling anyone.

"I certainly didn't know he was under for 10 hours," Jones said. "Just so you're clear, I had no idea about tattoos. I better get up to date on it. I had no idea that required that kind of sedation of any tattoo. It further explains to me why I don't have a tattoo."

Prescott expressed that he doesn't care if people think he is crazy for doing so.

"People are gonna think it's crazy and it is crazy," Prescott said. "I get that. But I'm crazy. That's my point is I am. I know I am. I'm not afraid of nothing."

The tattoo features his signature celebration, a tribute to family members, and where he grew up.

You likely won't be able to see it during a game due to the NFL's uniform policy on long socks but it may come up.
