Cowboys Confident Dak Prescott: Let's 'Go To Arizona & Get Win No. 3!'
The Dallas Cowboys are heeding Mike McCarthy's "Carpe Omnia'' theme and are seizing everything and anything they want. After collecting the New York Giants' soul in Week 1 with a 40-0 beatdown, it was the other team from New York who got a taste of Dallas' defensive firepower in a 30-10 blowout win on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.
Dan Quinn's defense, led by Micah Parsons, who is drawing Lawrence Taylor-like comparisons after yet another devastating performance (we will let the cake bake on that one), kept the New York Jets offense to just 10 points while grabbing three interceptions, sacking Zach Wilson three times, and forcing a fumble.
For Dak Prescott, he isn't surprised one bit seeing Parsons and the defense collect quarterbacks' souls for fun as they added another on Sunday.
“I’m not surprised,” Prescott said. “That’s credit to the way that guy and the rest of the defense prepares, practice, approach the game. Those guys have confidence that exudes. It comes from the work they put in. ... I went against these guys all spring and training camp, and it was not easy.
“It’s awesome to see the fruit of the labor coming against another team for those guys.”
With the Cowboys getting their season off to a blistering start as they have outscored both New York teams 70-10 combined while also grabbing 10 sacks and five interceptions, naturally, there is a buzz around the organization.
Some had Dallas as a genuine Super Bowl contender at the beginning of the year, and after two games, that feeling has only been reinforced.
But in true Dak fashion, he isn't letting what has happened already this season get in the way of what the team is ultimately trying to achieve.
“We go to Arizona and get win No. 3, simple as that,” Prescott said when asked about the expectations of the season. “It’s where our focus is, that’s who we are right now, that’s all we’re focusing on. 'Carpe Omnia' and stand in the moment right now, and that’s as simple as that. We know who we are. We are not going to get any further than Arizona, and I think that’s how we continue this rhythm.”
It is hard not to be captivated by what the Cowboys are doing. But you are only as good as your last game, and Dak certainly isn't going to let the team get ahead of themselves.
CeeDee Lamb stated that the team is here to "dominate'' the league, and through two weeks, they have done just that as they have swept aside two playoff-caliber teams while being in second gear.
'Carpe Omnia' is the season theme, and the Cowboys have every intention of rolling into Arizona and seizing anything and everything they want, regardless of what the Cardinals try and do to stop them.
