Dallas Cowboys Ex Deion Sanders Issues Colorado Warning - Even After Blowout?
Deion Sanders has sent a trio of messages to the rest of college football in his first three weeks as the head coach at the University of Colorado.
And now? Even though Colorado got blown out 42-6 by Oregon on Saturday, Sanders - the legendary Dallas Cowboys star and Pro Football Hall of Famer - is still in the business of sending out messages … this one in the form of a warning.
"You better get me right now,” Sanders said after the game, “you” being his critics. “This is the worst we’re going to be.”
There are arguably a few holes in that “bold” statement from “Coach Prime.” Among them? Many of Deion’s “critics” or “detractors” or even “enemies” are either fading from view or altogether imagined by Sanders as he crafts his familiar “us against the world” mindset with the Buffaloes.
He was 3-0 before the Oregon game. CU was 1-11 last year. There is no justification for not “believing” that … whether Deion has “kept receipts” on you or not.
Obviously, nobody thought this program would be a top-20 team in the country. Sanders and his staff and players deserve a great deal of credit for becoming one of the most engaging sports stories of the year.
But there is indeed the possibility that things get “worse” for Colorado … yes, worse even than 42-6. … because the next foe for the Buffaloes are the USC Trojans, led by superstar QB Caleb Williams and presently perched as the fifth-ranked team in the country.
