Cowboys Dream Signing of Chiefs' Chris Jones in Free Agency? 'Cut 'Em Off, Bartender!'
FRISCO - If the Dallas Cowboys were to assemble a "free agency dream list'' entering the 2024 NFL offseason - based not on salary-cap realities but rather on talent, need and fit - Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones might sit at the very top of the heap.
He's a destructive force. He's 29 and still in his prime. He plays a position where Dallas needs help. And he's got a championship pedigree.
The problem, in addition to all the obstacles of reality? He's announced that he wants to continue building his "championship pedigree'' in KC.
Jones has won three titles with the organization, and based on his remarks at Wednesday's Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, Jones is committed to playing out the rest of his career right there.

"Kansas City, we will be back here next year!'' Jones said. "And for those who want Chris Jones gone, I ain't going nowhere, baby! Woo! I will be here this year, next year, and the year after. Three-peat! Three-peat! Three-peat!"
Of course, nobody in KC "wants Jones gone.'' Jones' agent, however, is playfully suggesting that what he "wants gone'' is the bartender who he suspects over-served Jones into making comments that take away, if just a bit, any leverage he and his client might have in coming negotiations.
"Cut them off, bartenders!'' agent Michael J. Katz tweeted as he reacted to his client's Super Bowl parade speech.
Jones is as central to chasing the three-peat as just about anybody on that roster, including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes. So right now, the Chiefs have every reason to want to get the band back together in search of a three-peat. And as for the Cowboys and any other potential Jones bidder fantasizing about stealing away Chris Jones?
The bartender might as well "cut them off,'' too.
