Cowboys' Jake Ferguson To Attend 'Tight End University'

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson received an invitation to attend Tight End University, hosted by greats at the position

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson has a big year ahead of him. With Dalton Schultz departing in free agency, Ferguson looks to take over as the starter in just his second season.

As he prepares for this big year, Ferguson will get to learn from some of the best at his position. The second-year player will attend Tight End University, a popular three-day summit organized by current stars Travis Kelce and George Kittle, as well as former tight end and current broadcaster Greg Olsen. Tight End University confirmed Ferguson's attendance with an Instagram post on Wednesday.

According to TEU's official site, the goal of the summit is to allow tight ends to "collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers while participating in a variety of activities including film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation, and more." The 2023 edition of the event will take place on June 20-22 in Nashville. Confirmed attendees include T.J. Hockenson of the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Goedert of the Philadelphia Eagles and Pat Freiermuth of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Ferguson has already received a strong endorsement from one of the hosts of the summit. Leading up to the Super Bowl, Kelce said Ferguson was one of the young tight ends who reminded him of himself.

“There are a few great tight ends out there,” Kelce said. “I don’t know if there are any that remind me of myself, but there are a few guys I’m excited about. Kyle Pitts (of the Atlanta Falcons) being one of them. (Jake) Ferguson down in Dallas and (Daniel) Bellinger over in New York. I’m excited to see how these guys manifest over the next few years and we’ll see where they can take their game.”

Ferguson showed some promise as a rookie, catching 19 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown in a backup role. As he pushes for the starting job for the Dak Prescott-led Cowboys, attending TEU should only help him improve further.
